Ingrid Owen-Romero has been part of the group fitness community at large for over 30 years with experience teaching over 10 formats including her current repertoire of BODYPUMP, BODYCOMBAT, LES MILLS CORE, SPRINT™️, GRIT.  Ingrid has retired from the LES MILLS trainer community and now just enjoys teaching for her members after many years on the presenter and trainer stage.  She has a passion for helping folks grow in their ability to make fitness a way of life and is known for her ability to make fitness achievable, fun and addicting for all levels of fitness! Her mantra is #yesyoucan and she promises to be cheering you on the whole way and making you smile as you sweat!!!

Lisa Jang

Fitness in general is limitless. You determine the possibilities and work towards your goal of being stronger and healthier both physically and mentally. No matter what, you learn, grow and evolve from every challenge. Add “Group” to Fitness, you go farther with friends and a community who share the same passion and lift you up. That’s why I love Group Fitness! Currently, I hold an AFAA Primary Group Fitness Certification and have over a decade of group fitness and yoga experience. I am certified in the following Les Mills Formats: BodyPump, BodyCombat and BodyFlow. Currently, I am both an E-RYT 200, RYT 500,  and a Certified Education Provider (YACEP) with Yoga Alliance and a Yin Yoga Teacher Trainer. In addition, I have over 200 Hours of studies in manual therapy, with a main focus on Acupressure. My hobbies include watching Korean Dramas, working on handstands and reading about anatomy, embryology, movement and Chinese meridian theory (acupuncture).

I can honestly say Group Fitness changed my life. I was that person who was afraid to join a class. I was too embarrassed to make a fool of myself, so I stayed away. It took exactly one Les Mills BODYCOMBAT class to change me. The most important thing to me, as a Group Fitness instructor, is for members to feel a sense of belonging in the Group X room, just as I did that first time, and push past their own personal limits to feel successful in their fitness journey. It is my mission to work with members to promote self-growth and to experience the same joy and fulfillment from classes as I do. I know members will create that sense of exhilaration and achievement in me, as well! I am passionate about fitness and I want to share this passion with everyone I cross paths with.

What’s going on 1Tribe?! My name is Whitney, and I’ve been a Les Mills Group Fitness Instructor since 2012. I’m certified in Les Mills BodyPump, BodyCombat, and Grit. I’m a true believer that group fitness changes lives because it makes exercise fun – and when exercise is fun, it becomes a lifestyle. I find my inspiration in seeing you push your limits and conquer your goals. So let’s inspire each other one rep, one combo, one interval, one class, and one laugh at a time!

My name is Mario Arcibal and I have been teaching Bodycombat for 4 years now. I lead workout classes because I enjoy seeing everyone’s faces as they push towards their limits and beyond. I love being able to help them push their boundaries and keep their energy levels up. A couple of hobbies I enjoy are the simple things like, going out for a walk, listening to music, etc.

I’m certified in Les Mills Body Pump, Body Attack, CX Worx, and Grit. I’ve also written a year long weight program in app form for Apple users.  I’m a special education teacher during the day and love teaching fitness before and after school. Helping people is my purpose in life. 

Lisa Donovan

When she teaches fitness classes, her wish is that she helped someone feel empowered, successful, confident, healthy, beautiful……or just amazingl! If she could help one person reach their fitness and health goals through teaching fitness classes, this is one of the ways she will leave a positive ‘mark’ in this world. Lisa is a Bay Area native. She earned her B.S. in Finance from the University of San Francisco and currently is an H.R. Manager and Trainer. Lisa is committed to fitness and health. She has over 10 years experience teaching as a GX Instructor and is AFAA certified. She competed in Bikini/BodyBuilding competitions and loved how it challenged her. She competed in several Spartan races, as well. She loves the challenge. Lisa is married to her best friend, Patrick and they have one daughter, Kailani. Spending time with family is important to her. They are her ‘why.’ Lisa enjoys spending time outdoors, mountain biking, hiking, ‘glamping’, baking, weight training, spending time with her friends and eating ice cream. She is grateful to be part of the 1Tribe team and looks forward to meeting new members!!

My love for group fitness started 7 years ago when I moved to the east coast for work. Moving out there on my own, this was my space to meet new people and along the way grew to love group fitness and more specifically Les Mills formats. Upon moving back home, my favorite instructor had encouraged me to get certified. Which I did starting with CORE (now known as Les Mills Core) and shortly after BodyCombat. I teach because I love the energy and the “togetherness” that group fitness brings. For many, it’s where family and friends come together. For others, it’s a fun way to incorporate health and fitness. I do it for all of the above.

Why I teach:
I teach to help members reach their fitness goals through fun, motivating and challenging classes. Where staying mentally focused is how to get what you want out of the workout. My goal is to have members leave classes smiling, feeling successful and proud of their efforts. For me, seeing and helping people find their inner strength and crush their doubt is the most rewarding part of what I do.

Why I LOVE Group Fitness:
Working out should be fun and bring you joy or you won’t want to do it. What better way than to workout with 20 plus of your friends and community challenging each other, motivating one another and celebrating success together.

Who I am:
I’ve only recent started teaching fitness a little over 5 years ago but have participated in classes since I was a teenager. I’m married with 2 sons and a dog. I work full time for Contra Costa County. Fitness, nutrition, and personal development are my hobbies.

Carlene Beck

My name is Carlene Beck and I’m originally from the Midwest. I have over 15 years experience and over a dozen world class certifications – including 9 Les Mills certifications as well as being a CF-L1 coach. I got my instructor start in aqua aerobics at 19 years old! Of all my formats- my favorite at the moment is The Trip because it’s so fun but I’m a weight lifter at heart. I am a NASM trainer that specializes in functional movement and explosive enhancements in athletes. I’m also a Nutritional Therapist with focus on bio-individual solutions that make nutrition feel easy in today’s nutritional confusion. I love a challenge and have been a nationally ranked mud runner, women’s physique competitor and recreational runner. I even once lived in a van and traveled for a year. You might overhear me saying “I never turn down a workout” – and it’s true. If you want to hang out with me- make it a workout/challenge!

My passion for fitness has stemmed from group exercise. I can still remember the very first group fitness class I took many years ago which left me feeling empowered. strong, and connected to the people around me. What I appreciate most about Les Mills classes is that it brings participants together. Whatever may be happening outside of class in our crazy and hectic lives stops at the door, and the team comes together to share the common goal of becoming a better version of ourselves both mentally and physically. When teaching BodyCombat or GRIT, I strive to make the environment fun, challenging, and inclusive so everyone feels welcome and has an amazing workout.

Started my Fitness Path back in 1990 after gaining the “freshman 15” & have been a gym enthusiast since then. When instructors had an emergency or there was a sub-mixup, I would step in to lead class as a student-instructor for my fellow classmates & caught the teaching bug from there. My first certification was with AFAA (Athletics & Fitness Association of America’s) to become a UJam Instructor & began teaching Boot Camp, Pilates & Gentle Fitness classes to seniors. I enjoy leading my gym friends in a safe, fun & healthy environment to encourage everyone to put in the hard work now to reap the rewards of a healthy life – mind, body & heart 🙏🏽❤️

I’ve been a part of the group fitness world since 2014.  Its positive change in my life inspired me so much and I took my first step to become an instructor with my love at first sight, Les Mills BODYATTACK. I got my Les Mills GRIT Coach certification not too long after. 

I have a highly energetic personality and I love to share my passion for group fitness. My biggest goal is to inspire as many people as I can and to prove that working out along with an encouraging and fun environment will make their lives so much better. I’m a big believer in community and I regularly get together with my fit family that is expanding every day. Traveling, cooking and eating, playing video games, swimming in the Aegean and the Mediterranean Seas in the summers are some of my favorite things!

Born & raised from Honolulu, Hawaii.  I have a wonderful husband & son who supports all my extracurricular activities.  I’m a full time Accountant, I run my own Event Planning and still coach fitness classes. I’m like the “Jill of all Trades”. I’ve been in the fitness industry since 2006.  AAFA Group Fitness Certified among the other certifications I’ve gained through the years. I’ve I love pushing people a little further than what they think they are capable of.  I spent most of life self-doubting myself therefore I want to give the gift of confidence to people I meet through fitness & life.   It fulfills my soul and in turn it produces results for my clients. I believe in training clients the way I want to be trained.  I need someone to push me, to believe in me, challenge me and that is what I will always do for my clients or training group wherever I go.  “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.”

My fitness journey started 6 years ago after struggling with weight my entire life. I was 90 lbs overweight with potential health issues if I continued down this path. One day I woke up and decided that I needed to change. I initially started off focusing on calisthenics then a good friend introduced me to Les Mills. After a couple years of taking Les Mills classes, this same friend planted a seed in my brain recommending that I should become an instructor. I have never looked back since. Teaching has become one of my passions. I want to express that same love for fitness to whoever takes a class. To help you push through that last extra rep that you didn’t think you had. 

You have it in you to become the better version of yourself. No matter how hard your fitness journey is, surround yourself with positive people. These same people will pick you up when you are down and will inadvertently push you to achieve goals you’ve never thought possible.

I fell in love with fitness at an early age. My first job at the age of 16 was in a gym and I never looked back.  I knew I had to make health and fitness forever part of my life. I graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science and received a national certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. I love sharing my passion for health and fitness with this amazing community. My mom always said, “Without your health you have nothing.” I live and breathe that motto everyday! See you in class!

I started taking GroupX Classes because I wanted to break away from the routine and monotony of the gym machines. Back then, I solely measured success in seeing the calories burned go up, hitting a new personal record, or being able to endure a full hour on the stair master. However, the more I attended group fitness, the definition of what fitness meant changed. GroupX had me look forward the next class, made me want to return to the gym, and allowed me to feel connected with instructors and members alike. Hi! I’m Melinda Stark -aka Mel! I grew up in both Southern and Northern California , and currently live in Danville with my husband Roy of 29 years. My four grown kids are scattered around the west . I have been teaching group exercise for 26 years in a variety of formats ; including cycle, step, and resistance training. Teaching group exercise is a huge passion of mine. As far as certifications; American Council on Exercise, Les Mills, RPM and Sprint to name a few . In my spare time I enjoy boating, travel, and spending time with my family. I worked at 24 Hour Fitness for many years, along with several independent gyms. I still love teaching as much now as I did when I began. I’m thrilled to be part of the 1TRIBE team !I look forward to
